Terms of Service

Last updated: June 16, 2026

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Teacher's Aide ("the Service") you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Service description

Teacher's Aide is a Canadian report-card writing assistant for K-12 teachers. The Service includes student management, comment selection, PDF generation, and optional AI-assisted writing suggestions.

3. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information and keep it current.
  • You are responsible for the confidentiality of your password and rescue code.
  • You must notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.

4. Student data

Student names and other personal information are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and stored in Canada. You remain the sole owner of the data you enter. We never use student data to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

5. Free trial and subscription

Every new account starts with a 30-day free trial. After the trial, a paid subscription is required to keep write access. Your data is preserved for 7 additional days after the trial ends (read-only mode) so you have time to subscribe.

6. Payment and refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe in Canadian dollars. Subscriptions renew automatically. You may cancel any time from the billing portal; no pro-rated refunds are issued for partially used billing periods.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Upload illegal, defamatory, or privacy-infringing content;
  • Attempt to bypass security measures or rate limits;
  • Redistribute or resell access to the Service.

8. Intellectual property

Comments you enter belong to you. The default comment bank, application code, and report-card templates belong to Teacher's Aide and are protected by Canadian copyright.

9. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid in the previous 12 months.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from settings. We may suspend an account for violation of these terms, with reasonable notice when possible.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Manitoba and applicable federal Canadian laws.
